Bio

Tony is a Technical Sales Engineer at American Gas Safety, where he works on the application and design of controls products that prevent hazardous gas leaks and combustible gas explosions in buildings. 

Tony graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Gannon University in 2020, and has background in designing, testing, and optimizing mechanical systems and processes. Tony started an engineering career in plastics manufacturing, mold design, and product development.  He moved into sales & application by working for a Manufacturer’s Representative and eventually joining American Gas Safety. Tony now assists in application and specification of AGS products throughout the country. His specialization now is in the application of gas detection and utility control systems.   

Topic Description

This presentation will be about gas detection and detection systems to protect against poisonous and combustible gases in various applications.

What will be discussed for each application:

• Why? Why it is important to consider gas safety and where these gases come from.
• Overview of specific code required applications.
• How to add protection and select the right systems.
• How these systems work, and how we connect to devices for fan activation, emergency shutdown, et.
• Design considerations when specifying these systems.
• How gas detectors work.
